Algebra Tutoring

Due to transferring schools I took pre-alegebra twice, once in sixth grade (B), and again in seventh (A). I then took algebra in eighth grade (A) and algebra II in tenth grade(A). Although its been awhile since I took algebra, it is my favorite subsection of math and the one at which I am best.

Algebra II Tutoring

Due to transferring schools I took pre-alegebra twice, once in sixth grade (B), and again in seventh (A). I then took algebra in eighth grade (A) and algebra II in tenth grade(A). Although its been awhile since I took algebra, it is my favorite subsection of math and the one at which I am best.

AP English Tutoring

From a young age I was always placed in advanced reading and writing courses. I love reading, and although I am a slow writer, I am able to articulately express my ideas, as is reflected by the As and Bs I received throughout grade and high school(during which time I only took honors and AP english). I took the SAT only once and was able to score a 730 in critical reading and a 700 in writing. Lastly, I scored a 4 on the AP Language and Composition test.

French Tutoring

I took six years of french in grade school, and a french language course in college. I received mostly As and a few Bs over the years. As far as high school/introductory french, I am very well versed. I often have conversations with my step mom in basic french.

Government Tutoring

History has always been one of my favorite and strongest subjects. I have seven years of U.S. history under my belt including two years of AP U.S. History (A/4 on AP test), one year AP U.S. Government (A/4 on AP test), and a semester long course in college. The A I achieved in AP U.S. Government and the 4 I received on the subsequent AP test are indicators of my qualification to tutor in this subject.

History Tutoring

History has always been one of my favorite and strongest subjects. Having taken 7 years total, including AP U.S. History (A/4 on AP test), AP U.S. Government (B/4 on AP test), and a college level course, my American History background is admittedly stronger than that of my World History. Still, I have taken two years of World History including Honors World Cultures in ninth grade (A), and if given advanced notice am willing to brush up on any World History I did not study in depth.

Math Tutoring

Math is one of my favorite and strongest subjects. I was extremely successful in algebra(A), algebra II(A), geometry (A), and pre-calculus (A). I have also taken (high school) AP Calculus AB(B), AP Statistics (B) and (college) Statistics in Business. I was able to score a 740 on the math section of my SAT on my first try.

Pre Algebra Tutoring

Due to transferring schools I took pre-alegebra twice, once in sixth grade (B), and again in seventh (A). I then took algebra in eighth grade (A) and algebra II in tenth grade(A). Although its been awhile since I took algebra, it is my favorite subsection of math and the one at which I am best.

Pre Calculus Tutoring

Though pre calculus can seem difficult and confusing at first, I found that through practice it becomes simple. I immediately took to pre calculus when I took it in eleventh grade(A). So much so, that I would often help my peers by explaining concepts to and studying with them.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

From a young age I was placed in advanced reading and writing courses. I love reading, and although I am a slow writer, I am able to articulately express my ideas, as is reflected by the As and Bs I received throughout grade and high school(during which time I only took honors and AP english). Homework Coach Tutoring

As a babysitter and volunteer tutor I have spent a lot of time helping kids of all ages and academic levels with their homework. I try to make the material more interesting to them to minimize the issue of focus.

Math Advance Tutoring

From a young age I was placed in advanced math classes. In fact I was such a math wiz in elementary school I once scored a 298/300 on the math section of the New Jersey standardized test. I learned pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry before and at a faster pace than most kids my age (at the time). That being said, the fast pace of advanced level middle school math classes can make them extremely challenging, and there were definitely times when I struggled, especially in middle school. This uniquely qualifies me to help students with advanced middle school math because I struggled with the same concepts in the past, but ultimately mastered them as is apparent by my ability to achieve a 740 on the math section of the SAT on my first try.

Middle School Math Tutoring

Math is one of my favorite and strongest subjects. I was extremely successful in pre algebra(A/B), algebra(A), algebra II(A), geometry (A), and pre-calculus (A). I have also taken (high school) AP Calculus AB(B), AP Statistics (B) and (college) Statistics in Business. I was able to score a 740 on the math section of my SAT on my first try, and though SATs may feel far off in middle school a great deal of the math content of the SAT use concepts a student first learns in middle school.

Elementary Math Tutoring

From a young age I was placed in advanced math classes. In fact I was such a math wiz in elementary school I once scored a 298/300 on the math section of a New Jersey standardized test. However, I personally struggled with long division when I first learned it in fourth grade and used a tutor myself. By helping elementary students with their math homework, I have found many tricks that help younger students understand overwhelming concepts.

Social Studies Tutoring

Social Studies has always been one of my favorite subjects. Some people find history boring, but I see it as a story. With elementary school aged children struggling with social studies, I do my best to liven up the lesson by making it more relevant to the student, or by making the story come to life.
