I am a book-lover, writer and Spoken Word artist who loves creatively expressing herself through words. I enjoy being free through artistic expression, including dancing, meditating and also writing. Throughout the day, I am doing poetry workshops in classrooms, teaching students how to creatively express themselves.

About Me

Throughout the day, I work for a great organization called Boston Cares that encourages Boston to volunteer and get involved.My position focuses on encouraging, challenging and motivating young adults to volunteer in their community. My ultimate goal is to travel to several classrooms in the Boston area and share the art of poetry.

Experience

I have the opportunity to represent my College Student body in my junior year of college as their Student Body President. At that moment it was a validation that I represented a voice for someone. Although my involvement in poetry was a passion, my experience as a Student Body leader tough time the art of representing someone far greater than myself. Since then, I enjoy performing and going to classrooms and teaching students the art of poetry.

Approach

My approach is using the students interest to make their struggle interesting. I had the privilege of experiencing teachers who engaged us through creativity and expanded our minds. In efforts to help the student, my skill is using their interest as a foundation to help them grow in the subject. I believe that creativity is key in order to expand the child'd mind to learning.
