Fun Facts

I am the mother of 20 year-old twins adopted from Romania as babies, and they keep my life fun but challenging. I love to read, to watch Investigation Discovery on TV, and to decorate. I grew up in Mississippi, which can be a bit "insular," but oddly enough, I love to travel and have been to many countries.

About Me

I graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Rhodes College with a double major in economics/business and English. I graduated from Harvard Business School with a concentration in finance. I spent 20 years as an investment banker before retiring a few months ago. My favorite subjects are finance and accounting but I also love anything having to do with English--whether reading or writing--and history and political science.

Experience

My dallas">tutoring practice began by word of mouth but I have tutored undergrad and grad students at SMU, TCU, and University of Texas--Dallas in finance, accounting, and public speaking. I love working with young people, and dallas">tutoring keeps my own skills sharp.

Approach

I like to come to each lesson fully prepared--whether by copying or renting the student's textbook or reviewing homework and tests to see where the students is experiencing problems. When a student and I attack a complex finance or accounting problem or an MBA case together, I insist that we organize our thoughts before doing anything else: what is the question, what formulas might we need to solve it, and how can we best organize the facts we are given..
