Fun Facts

I am extremely outgoing and love to laugh. I enjoy being outside, the sun can turn any mood completely around for me. I have a slight obsession with TV shows and crafting, even if they don't turn out exactly like I planned. When I'm bored I like to go on long car rides, singing at the top of my lungs to my favorite songs. I have a passion for writing, I've written 3 novels but never actually showed them to anyone. I am a positive, happy person who loves to meet new people.

About Me

I am a junior early childhood education major at the dayton">University of Dayton. I plan to graduate and be able to each pre-school through 3rd grade with an endorsement in 4th and 5th and also be an intervention specialist for students grades, pre-school through 3rd grade. I have a passion for teaching and ideally hope to end up teaching in a 1st grade classroom in an urban school setting. I hope to inspire students to want to learn and succeed in life.

Experience

As the second oldest of five children, I have worked with them on their homework and reading over the years. I was a nanny for an 9 yr old for over 2 years and everyday we worked on his homework and reading and writing because that is were he struggled the most. I worked with two dyslexic students in a third grade classroom over the course of my freshman year and taught in a preschool classroom my sophomore year. I worked specifically on reading and writing and enjoyed it immensely.

Approach

Throughout my life I have always wished for a love of learning. I believe that it is easy to learn if you enjoy what you're learning and have a desire and drive to do well. As a detroit">tutor, I believe that making the subject matter something the student is able to connect with and genuinely enjoy learning you will have the best possible outcome. I use positivity, laughter and fun in my approach to helping a student learn. This way they have a desire to learn more and don't dread the activity.
