Fun Facts

I spend most of my time with my dog Louie and travelling to new places. I've travelled all over the world but have spent most of my life in Chicago. One of my biggest life goals is to travel to each continent.

About Me

I graduated from Roosevelt University with a 3.8 GPA with a BS in Biology and minor in Chemistry and previously worked at Northwestern University, in research for Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, as a lab manager and research technician. I am now pursuing my ultimate goal of obtaining a PhD in Organic Chemistry.

Experience

While at Roosevelt University I spent most my time as a teaching assistant (within lectures & Lab settings) and chicago">tutor for a variety of classes. As a teaching assistant, I aided in providing a healthy learning environment for the students as well as teaching material to the class as a whole when the teacher required it. As a chicago">tutor, I have aided 100+ students in grasping difficult concepts and I focus on explaining difficult concepts in an easily understood way for long-term memory.

Approach

My approach consists of breaking down difficult concepts into easily understood ideas so that the student can fully understand and utilize the subject. I focus on creating a positive environment so that the student can feel safe asking any question that they have. This is just as important as the chicago">tutoring in that the questions help them understand whatever it is they are having difficulty grasping and gives myself an idea of how their brain works so I can structure our sessions to fit them.
