About Me

I am a Junior at Texas Christian University, majoring in Psychology & minoring in Spanish.
I have a younger sister who is 12.
I am from Duncanville, TX.
At TCU, I am involved with Campus Crusade for Christ and TCU Nights at Cook's.

Experience:
~I started working with FrogTutoring the 2nd semester of my sophomore year. I tutored 9th grade Biology and Algebra. I also tutored 3rd grade Math & English, and 6th grade Math and Spanish.
~In high school, I tutored 8th grade Spanish.
~Summer of 2011, I spent a week as a counselor at Camp Discovery, a camp based out of Cook Children's for kids with ADD & ADHD.
~Summer of 2010, I was a kickball coach of kids ages 4-12.

My Approach:
First, I like to ask kids how they learn best or which way of learning is most fun for them - visually, audibly, or hands-on. If visually, we draw things on paper and make up situations in our heads that relate to the problem at hand. If audibly, I will reiterate verbally the concepts until they understand, then ask them to repeat them to me. If hands on, we have some fun and find some household objects to apply to the problem. I like to go through as many example problems as possible, and after those, see if they can complete problems by themselves.
~I love kids and really enjoy tutoring. I plan to use your time wisely when tutoring and to do everything I can to help your kids learn concepts thoroughly based on their needs and interests, stay focused, and enjoy themselves while doing so!
Thank you!
