Fun Facts
I am originally from Houston, TX but have lived in Philadelphia for the past 5 years. I love playing rugby and was the team captain of the women's team at Drexel University for two years before I graduated. I like cooking and am always looking for new recipes to try. I enjoy spending time outside and plan to get a puppy in the near future!
About Me
I recently graduated from Drexel University with a B.A. in English, Minor in Writing, and Certificate in Writing and Publishing. I am currently working as an editorial assistant as well as writing and publishing theater reviews. Ultimately, I hope to become an editor for a literary publishing house.
Experience
During my time at Drexel, I worked as a philadelphia">tutor in the Drexel Writing Center (2012-2015). I am a certified philadelphia">tutor by the College Reading and Learning Association and have experience with students of varying skill sets from ESL to graduate level.
Approach
Many students are told that they are bad writers because they have poor mechanics or vocabulary. However, in reality, most have incredibly insightful things to say and just struggle with putting it down on paper. It is my job as a philadelphia">tutor to help students express their ideas in ways that others can understand and appreciate.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring
I have experience working with students of varying skill levels from ESL to graduate. To focus on reading comprehension, my students and I take turns reading aloud and stop frequently to discuss what we are reading. I find that when we slow down and identify important words, the meaning of what we are reading is easier to grasp.
