About Me

I was born in Seydisehir (Konya), an agricultural town on the skirt of the Taurus Mountains, also known for its Aluminum plant, which is the major producer of Turkey. . There are many attractive places for tourists such as caves, mountains, swan pond, historical Byzantine buildings and even prehistoric ruins.
I graduated from Chemistry Department of Selcuk University and my graduation thesis was about analysis of saturated (margarine and butter) and unsaturated fat (olive, sunflower seed etc...) by HPLC. Food safety is continuing interest of mine. I also did research about nature of water and prepared textbook including different view points of water such as history, chemistry, and structure
of it. Additionally, I took Physics, Mathematics, Organic, Inorganic, food, industry, radical, and environmental Chemistry, bio-chemistry and Physic-Chemistry, Atom and Molecule Structure, technology and science, electrochemistry classes, and their lab. Classes. Moreover, I did my graduate studies in analytical chemistry at Selcuk university during which I spent a semester at the chemistry department of Charles University in Prague, where polographic and voltammetric analyses were born, to work on my experimental part of my thesis, Voltametric Analysis of Oxidation Reaction of Aminoanthraquinone, a specific organic compound. I was awarded with a scholarship by Selcuk University for having the one of the best GPA.

Experience

I worked as a teaching assistant and a private science washington-dc">tutor. After I came to the US, as I am eligible to work here,I worked as a 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade science teacher in a private school in Albuquerque, a Turkish Teacher and an activity coordinator at various cultural centers and UTEP for five years.i also worked in Harmony Schools as a science teacher,PBL and Science Coordinator, math intervention and after school Lego teacher. During my teaching, I realized that science would be taugh

Approach

I have worked with all ages; from kinder to adults,these work experiences taught me to be more patient, perseverance, and alertness. I have dealt with the students ,even special Ed kids, from low income and different background families. This made me more creative in coming up with ways to inspire my students and help them achieve their goals. For example, one of my students won the city wide science fair.While I was coping with behavioral problems, I felt that each child has unique identity
