Fun Facts
I am a very enthusiastic person that loves to learn! My hobbies outside of school include painting, drawing, writing, gardening, and raising my animals. I currently have two yellow-bellied slider turtles that I absolutely love, four frogs, a snail, some fish, and a dog. I am currently working on a series of children's books about my animals and their wacky adventures!
About Me
I am a current graduate student in the Master's in Liberal Arts program at TCU. I plan to graduate in 2014 before beginning my Ph.D. in humanities. My main research focus is in digital media. I hope to become a strong professor and academic advisor in my future.
During my undergraduate degree, I tutored regularly at Harding University and Alhf Junior High School in Searcy, AR. I have experience working with all ages of students, and even taught preschool full-time for a year before beginning graduate school. I have worked in many subjects, but my strengths lie in reading and writing.
My approach to tutoring is simple - I believe that everyone can learn! What makes learning hard for students usually boils down to a difference in their learning style from how the lesson was originally taught. When I begin working with a new student, I get to know their learning style through conversations, learning exercises, and short educational games. Through these tools I am able to adjust my lesson plans to best fit the needs of each student.
