Fun Facts

I am the owner of an ADORABLE Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier named Finnegan, but we call him Finny! He is now 11 months old and hard to keep up with! He loves playing in the water, going to the dog park and of course meeting new people!! I also have a new kitten named Mumford. It has been hard convincing Finny that Mumford is in fact a kitten and not a new toy for him but we have made progress!

About Me

I will soon be a college graduate from UTA! I will graduate this December with a degree in Social Work. My dream is to eventually work in an educational setting as a social worker. I love working with children of all ages and helping them succeed.

I have experience working in a small charter school as a Math Teacher. During my time there I worked as a tutor, working one-on-one with students in all levels of high school math, and co-facilitated TAKS preparations groups. I have also had the pleasure of working as a houseparent at a children's home. I cared for and mentored elementary and high school students and assisted the children in learning life skills.

I believe in meeting the student where they are in their own education and skills. I believe an effective tutor empowers their students to learn the concept behind the material, by encouragement and focusing on strengths, rather then simply showing the student how to pass a test. I am a very organized person and I believe it is essential for every young student to learn strong organizational skills and effective study skills to be successful in their education.
