Fun Facts

I grew up with a love for science and, as a child, I was always fascinated with the universe. In high school, I learned to play guitar and even started my own band. While I don't do music professionally these days, it remains one of my favorite pass-times. I've always had an interest in martial arts and personal development in general. In college I began studying martial arts independently and today I give private lessons to friends and family.

About Me

I am a second year Physics major at San Antonio College on a transfer program to University of Texas at San Antonio and I previously earned an Associates degree in Music. After I complete my graduate degree, I hope to attend Stanford University and earn a PhD. in Quantum Physics. My dream job is to work at a particle accelerator like CERN or Fermilab. I enjoy working in a team and I love solving challenging problems. I am a patient person and I hope to inspire the students I tutor.

Experience

During my time in college, I’ve worked with students ranging from sixth grade to twelfth grade in all subjects. I’ve tutored mostly in math, science, and guitar. I’ve tutored several elementary through high school aged students, but the larger portion of students I’ve tutored have been college level.

Approach

Growing up, I always enjoyed explaining things to people and helping them grasp difficult concepts. I like to tailor my tutoring approach to each student by listening to them and seeing exactly how they learn best. I also like to encourage a healthy fascination in the students I work with so they have as much fun learning as I have teaching. I get to know what drives each student and give them the right strategies for academic success.

Calculus I Tutoring

As a Physics major, Cal 1 is a required course. I earned an A in this class and I frequently discuss various mathematical theorems and proofs with my calculus professor. I help my fellow students with calculus problems on a regular basis.

Chemistry I Tutoring

Chem 1 and 2 are required courses for Physics majors. I earned an A in both of these courses. Chemistry, like Physics, is a natural science and is based around understanding the properties of matter which is crucial for Physicists.

Chemistry II Tutoring

Chem 1 and 2 are required courses for Physics majors. I earned an A in both of these courses. Chemistry, like Physics, is a natural science and is based around understanding the properties of matter which is crucial for Physicists.

College Algebra Tutoring

A mastery of college level algebra is necessary for success in Calculus. I've tutored Algebra at all levels, from pre-algebra in middle school to college level algebra. Physics deals with problems which require a high level of skill in algebra from the very beginning of the subject.

Math Tutoring

A general understanding of the ins and outs of mathematics is necessary for any Science major, especially Physics. Physics is the most mathematical of the natural sciences. As a consequence, I am completely confident in my ability to tutor mathematics at the college level.

Physics I Tutoring

Physics is my major, and it's what I do best. I finished my first University Physics course at the top of my class and made a perfect score on the final exam. I'm known for my tendency to discuss concepts from Physics in regular conversation and explain fairly complicated concepts in a way that any lay person can understand.

Trigonometry Tutoring

Trigonometry is a subject regularly used in both Calculus and Physics. I earned an A in this course in my first semester as a Physics major and I regularly come back to it to refresh the concepts. I help my classmates with trigonometry on a regular basis and have no doubt that I can tutor for this subject effectively
