Fun Facts

I am currently a junior at TCU and I absolutely love the campus and Fort Worth. I enjoy trying out new restaurants and going to the historic stockyards. Travel is a passion of mine and I hope to explore Europe once I graduate. I enjoy taking pictures and scrapbooking my travels and souvenirs!

About Me

I am an only child and was born and raised in Houston, Texas. I was fortunate to have much of my extended family close by. I spent most of my childhood with my aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. My family was full of educators and that passion carried over to me; I am currently an Early Childhood Education major at TCU and love it!

As my major might suggest, I enjoy working with children. I spent most of my teenage years babysitting and watching after children of all ages. One of the things I enjoyed most (and why I knew I wanted to be an educator) was helping the kids with their homework. In middle and high school, I was involved in organizations that worked to assist my peers with organization and study skills. Growing up I often helped my peers prepare for upcoming tests.

All throughout school I struggled with math. I know how frustrating it can be when the rest of your friends understand assignments and you just don't. That's why as a tutor I will be patient and tailor my strategy to the child. Every child is unique and learns in their own way; I plan to get to know my student and develop a technique that will help them learn best. I will relate the topic that we are covering to what they already understand (ie. sports, games, etc).

As part of Frog Tutoring and my philosophy, organizational skills will also be taught so that the child is prepared and ready. Learning should be an enjoyable process, not a frustrating one.
