Fun Facts

In my free time, I enjoy riding bikes around Austin area. I've recently begun training for running events like 5Ks. When I'm not being active, I enjoy reading science fiction and doodling.

About Me

I'm a PhD candidate in the philosophy department at the University of Texas with several years of teaching at the college level. My research is in philosophy of language and Indian philosophy, and part of my work involves translations of Sanskrit texts. My undergraduate degree was in English so I'm also able to teach literature (my research focuses on poetics/aesthetics). In the next year, my goal is to be hired as an assistant professor teaching philosophy.

I've taught high school students through the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. I've also tutored local yoga instructors in the Sanskrit language. As well, I've tutored college students throughout my time at the University of Texas, as part of my job is to be a teaching assistant for the department.

My tutoring approach is highly tailored to the individual student and their goals. I generally assign homework and spend part of the session going over their past assignment before moving on to new concepts and skills. I believe strongly in finding out how students learn best and encouraging them to develop those strengths.
