About Me

I am a highly self-motivated & dynamic individual with grand aspirations to ultimately be a part of something that inspires others. I am very passionate about helping others who struggle with overcoming obstacles that life throws that them, whether that comes in forms of academics or other personal issues. Summarily, I am a person who is delighted to have a chance to be a mentor to others.

During high school, I tutored most of my peers through Physics AP and Calculus AP (mainly those who struggled earning consistently high grades). However, I do not restrict myself to tutoring people who are near failing/doing poorly, I also tutor those who are looking in general to get a better, true understanding of the material rather than memorizing it. In college, I also tutored numerous students. During the spring semester of 2013, I tutored over 100 students for Engineering Mechanics - Statics. I did this out of a request from friends, and did not accept monetary pay.

From my experience, tutoring should never be a linear approach. Each person has his/her own preferred method of learning, and it's my job to find out what that is and build up on it. For example, someone who is very methodical and dislikes theory shouldn't be tutored the same was as someone who is generally an idealist and prefers the core of which the knowledge is derived from. In addition, audio, visual, and kinesthetic learning also plays a role in someone's retention of information/ability to understand concepts. I take into consideration as many factors as possible to an individual's learning and build a core curriculum around that so that I don't waste my time trying to teach them in a way that they won't understand, and I don't waste their time by listening to me ramble.
