Fun Facts
I started dancing when I was three years old and became a pre-professional ballet dancer when I was about eight years old. I am also a part of Girls Who Code, which is an organization that strives to decrease the gender gap in STEM-related careers (especially science/virginia/washington-dc">computer science). I was a student for them one summer (2014) and have been a teaching assistant for them twice for their summer immersion program.
About Me
I am a freshman Computer Engineering major at The washington-university">George Washington University. I attended American Heritage High School in Plantation, Florida and graduated in 2016 with a 4.53 GPA. I hope to graduate GWU 2020 with a Computer Engineering major and a science/virginia/washington-dc">Computer Science minor. After undergrad, I would like to go back to school and receive a master degree. My ultimate goal is to work at Google, Facebook, or in a government branch.
Experience
Back in high school, I would tutor some students in math through the National Honor Society club. Currently, I am in a class called GWTeach where we go in pairs into middle schools and teach a lesson. I am also tutoring some students at the School Without Walls for math subjects. As mentioned under fun facts I was also a teaching assistant for GWC teaching twenty girls the basics of science/virginia/washington-dc">computer science.
Approach
In middle school, I really struggled with math and my math teacher even told my parents that I would not be able to have a career in anything related to math. Then in high school i had a great teacher that really pushed me and I ended up receiving awards in math and having an A all throughout.

Algebra Tutoring
I took Algebra 1 my first year of High School and received A's the four semesters. I did not have to take the final or the mid-term because I received more than an 89.0 as the final grade. This subject goes along with my major because engineering deals a lot with math. I also tutored math in high school through National Honor Society.

I took Algebra 1 my second year of High School and received A's and B's the four semesters. I received more than an 89.0 as the final grade. This subject goes along with my major because engineering deals a lot with math. I also tutored math in high school through National Honor Society.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I took pre-algebra my last year of middle school and received A's the full year. This subject goes along with my major because engineering deals a lot with math.
Spanish I Tutoring
I am a native Spanish speaker and spoke Spanish at home as well. I also took AP Spanish in High School and received A's as well as a score of 5 on the exam. I know how to both read and write Spanish.

Homework Coach Tutoring
Being a homework coach requires someone who is very organized and likes keeping a schedule. I am very good at both! I can also help them throughout some questions and then let them try a few themselves for practice.
