Fun Facts
I am from a big Greek-Italian family, so my favorite activity of all time is to talk and cook for people! I am from a family of educators and administrators, so education and learning is a huge priority for me as well. One of my recent hobbies is backpacking, and I plan to hike sections of the Appalachian Trail this coming spring!
About Me
I graduated from the pittsburgh">University of Pittsburgh with Bachelors degrees in English Literature, with a within major GPA of 3.9 and Communication Sciences & Disorders with a within major GPA of 3.7. While at Pitt, I worked as a Research Assistant at the University's Language and Brain Lab. I am currently enrolled in the Graduate program at La Salle University for my Masters in Speech Pathology, and work as a student clinician at the University's pediatric outpatient clinic.
Experience
Throughout high school, I often tutored peers in various subjects, and was a member of the National Honors Society, through which I had the opportunity to tutor students in the elementary school. In college, I often worked with fellow students in proofreading and improving their writing technique. My current work at the La Salle University Children's clinic is additionally very education-based, as my focus is working with young clients to improve speech and communication skills.
Approach
Students have specific strengths and unique learning styles, making it important to use a unique approach for each one. Students can learn to use their strengths and learning styles to create an individual and unique approach to studying and working that best fits them, and can allow them to work to their full potential. It is also important to encourage students to view learning as a positive experience, and to help them go beyond learning content to generalize their skills to future studying.

I have completed a Bachelor's degree in Communication Sciences and disorders at the University of Pittsburgh where I received mostly A's, and am currently enrolled at La Salle University for my Master's in Speech Pathology. I am also currently working in the field as a student clinician for the La Salle University Clinic in pediatric outpatient therapy. I additionally have experience working at the Pitt Language and Brain Lab focusing on aphasia research. I have experience peer-tutoring this subject through Pitt's NSSLHA program.
Writing Tutoring
Throughout college I have taken many writing-intensive courses for my English Literature major, and received A's for all of them. I also worked for several years as editor of a college literature publication, advising for and critiquing college-level composition, and have also peer edited many academic papers.
I have a good mastery of this subject and can provide excellent guidance in both form and content for this material.
