Fun Facts
I have an innate passion for education. My mother, aunts and great-aunts and many other family members of mine are educators. Growing up, I had a fascination with word games such as scrabble and hangman. My younger brother and I were fortunate enough to have a strong support system that pushed us to challenge ourselves academically.
About Me
I am a junior Human Development major, public policy minor from Laurel, Maryland. I am a product of Prince George's County's public school system and one day I hope to reform their policies as well make education enjoyable for all children. I am passionate about self-motivation in children and currently working on research surrounding this subject.
Experience
I was a member of Strive for College which was an organization centered around preparing high school seniors for college by pairing them with a college freshman to assist them with the application process. My mentee and I met once a week for about an hour and a half. Prior to this I was involved in an extended summer learning program where I acted as a teachers aid to help children complete daily tasks.
Approach
I strive to create a fun, welcoming learning environment. I want each student to realize that their goals can be accomplished through hard work and dedication. As a tutor, I believe positivity and persistence is key for each session. I want each student to feel confident in their work and take pride in each assignment.
