Fun Facts

One thing that truly brings out my inner self is while painting. I absolutely love painting nature. I have a set schedule to paint at least once every two months. I am the youngest of five, and have been in out of Boston for over ten years. I also enjoy Zumba and Yoga. I hope to learn various other forms of fitness dances.

About Me

I am a graduate student majoring in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling at Illinois Institute of Technology. I have been on the Dean's List for the past three years. My future plan is to pursue doctoral studies in counseling psychology with a pursuit to be involved in academia.

Experience

As a vice president of Psi Chi International Honor Society, I coordinate various types of events at Illinois Institute of Technology. I lead the General Body Meetings, speaker presentations and fun activities with the help of my executive board members. I also tutor General Biology, Psychology and Statistics on campus in my free time. I enjoy volunteering at the Ronald McDonald House with the Children's Lurie Hospital as it lets me not only enjoy myself with the kids but learn from them.

Approach

As the first female in the entire family going to college, I had a lot of pressure on me to explain various types of concepts at home. So my approach has always been to explain things from a step-by-step process because not only it helps them understand the concept of something but also understand the main use of it. So whenever it came to tutoring at home or outside, I find it very helpful to understand what does the learner already knows before I help them with anything.
