Fun Facts

Just like those annoying people on exercise infomercials, I have a hobby of self-improvement and learning new skills. Not for any particular reason, I just like doing new things.
Over the last few years, I've developed skills in ventriloquism, visual arts, Morse code, tap dancing, non-emergency homeopathy, and creative writing. Additionally, I can play the saxophone and digeridoo.
I also like video games, being outdoors, cooking, and the Golden Girls.

About Me

As a psychology/biology/physics student, I am very interested in the sciences, and I spend the majority of my time either outside exploring DC/VA/MD, or exploring new fields of science and technology and explaining the new subject everyone who will listen.
As both an AP scholar and IB graduate, I have opened myself to others in times of academic stress, because I can personally relate to the hardships of hard subjects, difficult teachers, personal circumstances, etc.
As academic chair for my fraternity, I have learned how to balance fun and work with respect to coursework; I believe that any student is capable of learning anything, so long as an effort is being made.
As a college student, I spend most of my time studying for class or working in a lab, less of my time with friends having fun and relaxing, and the rest of my time sleeping-- I unfortunately like to spend my dedicated sleeping time on studying some more, but I'm a pre-med student, so I like to think that I am impervious to sleep anyway.

During my high school career, I have tutored students in elementary and middle school in various subjects through the Teen Action Service Corps, where I worked with an instructor in helping students with homework and supplementary coursework. Through the National Honors Society, I helped high school freshmen in Spanish, where I worked independently to create study guides and bi-weekly quizzes. I have also served as the Academic chair for the American University chapter of Zeta Psi as of August 2011, where I not only provide one on one washington-dc">tutoring for all psychology and biology students, but it is also my duty to ensure that all active members maintain a certain level of academic performance. This is normally accomplished through individual meetings, long-term study plans, and/or washington-dc">tutoring in a specific subject.
