About Me

An energetic young man, I am nearing 22 years old and studying Biomedical Engineering with pre-med at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University. A state-ranked hurdler in high school, I still try to maintain my fitness and body. I am a motivated college student who has a passion for learning. But when I was a young child, it was very difficult for me to sit down and learn something because I was such a hyperactive child. Thus, I had to learn what it meant to crack down and focus. Some topics came naturally to me, however, and it was in these subjects that I excelled, eagerly helping out others along the way. It was in this way that I discovered my talent for explaining things in an easy, comprehensible way.

Over the past few years, I have developed considerable experience in detroit">tutoring students, from the youngest elementary school children to high school kids, and from students with meager financial and educational backgrounds to those whose parents are doctors and lawyers. I have realized that each student has different needs, but there are patterns as well. For example, a student good at reading-comprehension/michigan/detroit">reading comprehension will be better off when tackling a mathematical word problem.

Experience

I have tutored kids on a number of subjects, including mathematics, science, reading/writing, and even certain religious studies. In addition, I was an ACT instructor for a locally administered course to a batch of high school students, whose scores increased by the end of the course.

Approach

I recognize that each person has unique needs and that often times, one-size-fits-all classroom instruction is not adequate for a student. It is crucial to understand that higher order learning is accompanied by good instructors who provide their attention and care towards the student without distractions. My experiences have developed me into a person who is competent in the realm of good instruction.
