Biology I Tutoring

I received credit for Biology I because of my scores on my IB biology examinations. I have a firm grasp of basic biology topics and have a detailed understand of molecular biology. As I am majoring in Biochemistry I have been able to gain a greater understand of topics dealing with cellular biology and biotechnology.

Biology II Tutoring

I received credit for Biology II because of my scores on my IB biology examinations as well. Molecular Biology is a subject I am very familiar with since I am majoring in Biochemistry. This has allowed me to gain even more detail on the subjects in the introductory Biology courses.

Chemistry I Tutoring

I took Chemistry I when I first arrived at college and received an A in the course. I have tutored a portion of the material before and feel comfortable with it. I understand both the quantitative and qualitative portions of Chemistry as it is necessary for Chemical Engineering.

Chemistry II Tutoring

I received an A in NC State's Chemistry II. The skills I learned in Chemistry II I use on a regular basis with Chemical Engineering. This allows me to have a firm grasp of the quantitative aspects of Chemistry since I can take chemical information and solve a problem with it.

Organic Chemistry I Tutoring

When I took Organic Chemistry I, I received an A. I have also had the opportunity to tutor a portion of the Organic Chemistry material. I feel comfortable tutoring the background knowledge necessary to understand Organic Chemistry along with the mechanisms of the reactions that need to be learned.

Organic Chemistry II Tutoring

I received an A in Organic Chemistry II and it was one of my most enjoyable chemistry classes. I feel confident in my skill of understanding mechanisms and being able to teach that to a student. I also would be able to help with synthesis pathways as this is normally a difficult subject to understand.

Algebra Tutoring

I have tutored algebra before and feel like it is a very crucial math to teach. I use algebra skill all the time with Engineering so I feel it is a very important skill to teach and nurture. I will be able to bring my own experience and prior skills with tutoring to make a nurturing experience for your student.

AP Chemistry Tutoring

I have completed both introductory college level courses in Chemistry with As that are equated with AP Chemistry. I am also a Chemical Engineering major so I have to keep the knowledge fresh in my head. I have also had prior tutoring experience in Chemistry at the college level so I will be able to adapt that for high school students as well.

Biology Tutoring

As a Biochemistry major, I have successfully navigated through many biology classes. Since this is my major the information is still very fresh in my mind as I use it very frequently. I also took IB Biology in high school so I understand how high school biology is taught.

Biology AP Tutoring

I took IB Biology in high school and received credit for it at NC State. Since the programs are equitable in difficulty I would be able to help students navigate through the amount of work and the details of the material. I am also a Biochemistry major so the subjects taught in biology are always very fresh in my mind.

Chemistry Tutoring

As a Chemical Engineering major I deal with chemistry on a regular basis. I successfully completed college level chemistry with an A. I have also tutored college students in this subject so I will be able to transfer that to high school students.

Geometry Tutoring

Geometry is a subject I was very fond of in high school. I use concepts from geometry to help make problems in Engineering easier to solve so I still use it even today. I also have prior experience tutoring students in math so I will be able to transfer those skills to Geometry as well.

Math Tutoring

As an Engineering major I use math every day. This allows me to stay up to date in a variety of math skills that are necessary to solve problems. I have also tutored a variety of high school students in different areas of math.

Pre Algebra Tutoring

I have worked with multiple high school students on math in the past. This makes me feel confident that I can work with students on pre-algebra as I have tutored concepts in pre-algebra as well. I have developed my math skills over the years and use them almost every day with Engineering so I will be fresh to teach students.

SAT Math Tutoring

I have learned many skills to taking the SAT specifically the math section. I was successful with those skills as I got a 770 for math on my SAT. The SAT math is about learning how to logically go about solving the problem and I would be able to help students learn their own process for working through the problem.

Science Tutoring

As both of my majors deal with science I am very well versed in chemistry and biology. I have also been successful in both environmental science in physics. With this knowledge of the four major sciences taught in high school I can utilize my tutoring skills to make the subjects easier to understand.

Middle School Math Tutoring

I have had experience tutoring in math before for multiple different levels of math. This allows me to feel confident that I can tutor middle school math as it algebra and geometry which I had to master to be able to continue on to the math I do today. As I feel comfortable with math as an Engineer I can help students by giving them more than one way to solve the problem because the way they have been taught might not work for them.

Reading Comprehension Tutoring

Throughout school, I thrived in reading comprehension because I loved to read and think about the stories I read. I would be able to help a student with important skills that would make this subject easier and hopefully more fun. It is one of those subjects some think you either get it or you do not but I feel the skills necessary to succeed can be nurture and allow students to thrive.

Study Skills Tutoring

I have worked with a younger student on her homework skills before. This allows me to feel confident that I can find study skill that will work for other students. I have tried out many methods myself throughout the years and even analyzed learning strategies through a psychological perspective so I feel I can teach and nurture truly helpful study skills in students.

Homework Coach Tutoring

I have worked with a student in elementary school before with homework help as I was her babysitter. Every day after school I would sit down with her and work through and encourage her to finish her homework. I would also help her if she became stuck on a problem.

Elementary Math Tutoring

I have a very in depth understand of math which allows me to be able to teach multiple ways to a problem which benefits students as it allows them to pick which works best for them. I have worked with a student I babysat on her math homework on a regular basis. This allows me to have prior experience tutoring 5th grade math but I would comfortable working with any level in elementary school.

Microsoft Excel Tutoring

As a student in Chemical Engineering, Excel is a tool we use every assignment. I have gotten comfortable using Excel throughout all my years in school and even use it for person records. I have also taken a course at NC State that taught affirmed my knowledge of Excel.

Microsoft PowerPoint Tutoring

I have used PowerPoint all throughout school and for many projects. This has allowed me to feel comfortable with the intricacies of the program. I have even taken a communications course which taught me important skills on how to make presentations successful.

Microsoft Word Tutoring

Word is a program I use on a regular basis which has allowed me to figure out efficient ways to create documents for projects and personal use. Through a communications course which I received an A, I learned important formatting skills for certain projects. I have also created many successful formal lab reports through Word that have looked very professional.
