Fun Facts
I permanently moved to San Antonio about a year ago from Los Angeles, California where I attended the University of California at Long Beach, and I have just begun classes at UTSA. I love reading, but more than that, I love reading Harry Potter. If I could name Harry Potter as a hobby, whether it's reading the books, watching the movies, talking about Harry Potter, or just thinking about Harry Potter, it'd be my greatest hobby.
About Me
I've always been a great reader, but it was after I took a few creative writing classes that I found my passion for writing. I never saw myself as an artist, until I began to write, and I love to express myself through my work. I would love to go into the publishing business after I graduate, but I would love even more to find an outlet for my writing. I wish to go into screenwriting or to become published as an author.
I currently work for a program called KIN, or Kids' Involvement Network. It's an after school program at many schools in the North East Independent School District, and I work at Coker Elementary School. During homework time, our duty is to walk around and help out with anything the kids may need. Although I usually work with the Kindergarten and 1st Grade group, specifically with the Spanish homework that they have, I usually am the go-to assistant for any reading-comprehension/texas/san-antonio">reading comprehension or other English homework that the older students may have.
Prior to my A.P. English Class in high school, I had had no real interest in my English classes, I just happened to be good at reading and writing. However, my teacher in my senior year, Mrs. Bean, presented us the books assigned with a passion for literature that I had never seen before. She was able to get my emotions running high for Steinbeck and Dostoyevsky, whether it was with mock court trials, presentations, or lectures. I really aspire to create that same passion and interest in other students that she was able to ignite in our classes.
