I love cupcakes of all kinds, they are little bites of heaven! I'm the second oldest of eight children. I sometimes talk in a sing-song voice when I'm very excited or happy and I love dancing. I was also the mascot in high school
About Me
I am a senior at the University of North Texas majoring in Education and minoring in education/texas/fort-worth">Special Education. I was immediate past president of my sorority, and was also president of the Alliance of Black School Educators, and a senator for the Student Government Association. Ideally I would like to teach second grade. My personal philosophy is "An education is the best tool you can have!".
Experience
While in high school I was a teacher's assistant in a second grade room for two years, and tutored 4th grade students in math per request of the assistant principal. My first year of college, I volunteered to tutor my same aged peers in History, and my second year I was hired as a Supplementary Instruction Leader in History by the university. I've also had a variety of experience from my education courses in terms of observations as well as hands on applications of Diagnostics tests and RTI.
Approach
Each child learns differently, so as the tutor I cannot keep my approach the same per student. It is always important to build rapport with a student so that you can really get down to the root of why the are having trouble. After the root of the problem is established I start to solve the problem and while working, use a lot of positive feedback in order to encourage them to keep trying. I always emphasize the importance of believing in yourself as well as never giving up.

College Algebra Tutoring

Education Tutoring
I am currently majoring in Education and have completed all of my classes prior to my student teaching. I've taken reading strategies course, math, and english courses, as well as ESL and special education courses.
English Tutoring
I have always been enrolled in Pre-Ap and AP English courses throughout my junior high and high school careers.
Physics I Tutoring
I made a 98 in this class, and proceeded on to take AP Physics the next year.

I have a great love for the Spanish Language, I took 3 years of it in high school, as well as one semester in college (Spanish I).

Geometry is a very interesting subject to me, and I have received an A in this class.

I'm very aware of the hassle doing homework can be especially when you have a large amount in different subjects, so it is all about prioritizing and getting ahead.
Pre Algebra Tutoring
I did not have the best teacher for Pre Algebra, so I had to do a lot of learning on my own, and I don't want to other students to struggle with this.

Science in general is one of my favorite subjects, and I've always taken Pre-AP and AP classes.

I've taken high school Spanish (Pre-AP) as well as college Spanish.
