About Me

I am a student with strong background in mathematics, economics, finance and statistics. These majors have strong connection and I can say I have a pretty comprehensive understanding in these fields. As a master student in Statistics in maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">columbia-university">maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">Columbia University, I just finished the CFA Level 2 exam in early June and am working as a data analyst in an fine art company. I will also work as a quant intern at Resource Pro, a top 100 outsourcing company in the world.

I have one manhattan">tutor experience that was in China, when I taught one high school student mathematics. As is known, education in China focus on the grade of exam, so I taught him the techniques and skills to solve problems in the exam. The result is pretty good and he improved his math score greatly in the following exams. I also taught my classmates in maryland/columbia">columbia">maryland/columbia">Columbia and even my boss the basis formulas or definition of statistics and finance during the past 1 year and this feeling is terrific.

I always explain the definition first, making my student to have a big picture of what they will learn. Then I will write down the formulas and break down into parts to make sense to them. Example is very important and it helps students understand well of the concept. Finally I will leave a practice to make sure that students understand the points.
For example, when I explained the Sharpe Ratio to my boss, I wrote down the formula and said that the numerator is the excess return, and the denominator is the standard deviation. This ratio measures the excess return per unit deviation and it is the most powerful ratio of performance measurements in finance. Actually, I explained the definition of Adjusted Sharpe Ratio instead, which is more complicated and better in use.
