Fun Facts

I am big foodie, I love food that is interesting and unusual to one's taste bud. My foodie appetite has taking me around the world and has allowed for me to experience unique opportunities.

About Me

I am ESL teacher that lived and taught abroad in both South Korea and Barcelona. While teaching 20 hours a week in South Korea, I finished up my last year of college with 3.2 average. I also volunteered my service as tutor at a local orphanage tutoring a middle school student basic vocabulary English. With those given experiences I hope to attend the University of Potsdam to earn my Masters in Public Policy and Public Governance.

Experience

Since 2007, I was a mentor and guidance for high school students working in the capacity of a tutor and support system. Most of my teaching fell into the categories of English, Writing, and Academic Success. For example, I was a participant of the Gateway Program at my University, in which I did a presentation for the 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders about the importance of college. I also helped with the application and writing process for the Bill Gates Millennium Scholarship.

Approach

Growing up I struggled with applying what I learned. But it wasn't until my University years that the support services at my school connected me with a awesome mentor/tutor. This tutor really helped me to understand the content/material in an organic way, in which I was able to grasp what I was learning. As a tutor, my goal is to create a clear, tangible difference in the way my student learns. I want he/she to feel successful and feel connected at the same time with their learning progress.
