About Me

I have my teaching degree from UNC-Chapel Hill. I have been teaching for 6 years. The majority of my teaching experience is in grades K-3. I am expecting my first child in November so I have decided to take the year off and finish my master's degree in education/north-carolina/charlotte">special education. I love doing anything outside!

I can not get my transcript to upload because I no longer have access to my grades without ordering an official transcript from 2007.

I am currently charlotte">tutoring an upcoming first grader with Sensory Behavior Disorder. I have used RtI for several years and teach all subjects using small differentiated groups in the classroom.

I think that assessment should guide your instruction. It is so important to find out where the child is before you plan on where to go next so that the sessions are most beneficial. Speaking with the parents, previous teachers, reviewing report cards, etc. is also important. As far as working with the child, it is important to make it engaging and fun!
