Fun Facts

I love to read, take walks, to attend plays and musicals, and to watch movies. Some of my favorite books are To Kill a Mockingbird, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Kite Runner. I especially enjoy musicals. One of my favorite musicals is Les Miserables, I also enjoy spending time visiting with family and friends, included my 3 daughters who all attend college in Boston.

About Me

I attended Salem State University and obtained a Master of Education degree in Moderate Disabilities (PreK-8) in May, 2010, and have my Preliminary Teacher License for this area. I have been a substitute teacher for several years, including the last 2 school years in the towns of Reading and Lexington. I have taught in both general education classes and special education classrooms where I have worked with children with moderate learning disabilities, include students with communication disorders, ADD, ADHD, and students who are on the autism spectrum. I am a mother of 3 daughters who will all be attending college this fall, so I am excited to be able to add tutoring to my schedule. I am an avid reader, and enjoy writing and math.

I have worked with individual students in the classroom, and I have been a one-on-one tutor for a high school senior girl in all subject areas. I have also worked with all 3 of my daughters over the years, helping them with their homework assignments, especially math and writing.

I am aware that every student has varying abilities and learns differently. I am able to tailor my instruction to meet each student's different skills. I believe in not just giving answers, but in helping the student to come up with the solution on his/her own with my guidance and assistance.
