Fun Facts
I was raised bilingual! Although I come from an English speaking family, my parents were very adamant that they wanted me to be able to speak two languages fluently.
About Me
I am a junior double majoring in Women's Studies and Hispanic Studies at the University of Pennsylvania. I am also premed. My goal is to go to medical school and work in either women's health, or global health, specifically in Latin American countries.
Experience
I have been tutoring since high school, for people of all ages. I have experience doing homework help in various subjects for elementary school students, and Spanish help for middle, high school, and college students.
Approach
As a student, I found Spanish classes to be frustrating because languages are not one-dimensional, and it is hard to teach them in an engaging way. I also found the lack of diversity when it came to the various dialects of Spanish frustrating, as I grew up speaking Caribbean Spanish but that is not what was thought in classes. Luckily, in high school and college I was able to broaden my studies to have a more inclusive experience when it came to languages.
