About Me
I started to be a volunteer math tutor at Portland Community College from 2011 to 2013. During this time, I really enjoyed the moment that people had their math stress relieved with my help. When I started to get my BS degree in Mathematics Science in 2014 at Portland State University, I became a private tutor after 2013. Since then, I had worked with students from elementary school, middle school, and high school. Now, I am working on my MS degree in Statistics.
Experience
I specialize in elementary math, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, trigonometry (especially proofs of identities), pre-calculus, calculus, discrete math, probability and statistics.
I had completed a wide range of college math courses, such as, algebra, geometry trigonometry, calculus discrete math, applied probability and statistics. I also had a sequence of elementary math teaching training (courses+practicum for 6 months in a local school).
Approach
My goal of all the tutoring sessions is to clarify and demystify any issues. I will adjust my method of tutoring by the way the student learns. I don’t just answer a question. I help the student to understand how it works within the problem and how it will be used in the future.
