Fun Facts
I love movies. I have a fascination with Batman and Lord of the Rings, and just about anything by Christopher Nolan.
About Me
I graduated with a BS in psychology from TCU in 2017. Right now I'm applying to grad school programs for school counseling. I eventually want to go into high school counseling or academic advising.
Experience
Worked as a learning assistant and subject tutor at TCU for three semesters. I also helped manage the freshman football study hall over summer. I've worked one-on-one and in small groups to help students in psychology, sociology, philosophy, english, art history, communication, and a few art and graphic design classes.
Approach
I try to pay attention. Every student is different, so after I get to know the student a bit, I will change the way I approach the material. I try really hard to make material interesting rather than just "teach it." I'm pretty goofy too, so I'll joke and laugh a lot.

Psychology
Philosophy Tutoring
My minor is philosophy, and I've taken classes in moral philosophy, epistemology, and metaphysics, as well as several history of philosophy classes. I am particularly helpful when it comes to constructing and summarizing arguments for papers. In fact, this helps in all subjects.
Psychology Tutoring
This was my major, and I have a lot of experience tutoring psychology. My students found the application of the concepts to be the most challenging part of the course. I usually try to help my students learn how to apply knowledge in different scenarios, rather than just memorize it.
Reading Comprehension Tutoring
My philosophy helped me learn how to analyze a text and find the deeper implications. I have helped many of my students at TCU become active readers who highlight and breakdown each passage as they go along.
Sociology Tutoring
I have tutored this at TCU and find it to be a matter of mastering concepts rather than lack of comprehension. I usually help my students learn how to apply and remember the material.
Study Skills Tutoring
I was a learning assistant at TCU in addition to being a subject tutor, so I helped my students with everything from time-management to organization. I also break down the different methods of studying and how and when to use them.
Writing Tutoring
I learned writing from my philosophy classes, because all of philosophy is writing (even the exams). I help my students learn how to write, rather than tell them what to write.
Writing Advance Tutoring
I learned writing from my philosophy classes, because all of philosophy is writing (even the exams). I help my students learn how to write, rather than tell them what to write.
English Tutoring
I have tutored this before at TCU. Most of the tricky stuff is learning how to write, although I can help with comprehension as well.
Communication Tutoring
Similar to sociology, most of my students have difficulty with mastery of concepts and their application rather than lack of comprehension of the material. I help my students learn to apply the concepts and remember them.
AP English Tutoring
I took AP english in high school, and I struggled with my writing. It wasn't until I got to college that I learned to write, but I remember how I learned and how to help others learn as well. I also try to find ways to make the material interesting, even when others would find it boring.
Adobe Photoshop Tutoring
I have helped many of my students at TCU with their graphic design assignments.
Homework Coach Tutoring
I was a learning assistant at TCU in addition to being a subject tutor, so I helped my students with everything from time-management to organization.
