Fun Facts
Born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, I attended a performing arts middle and high school where I played piano and the trombone for six years. I am an avid Arizona Cardinals fan, Phoenix Suns fan, and any UofA sports team fan. In 8th grade, my friend and I decided to run rim to rim of the Grand Canyon which sparked my love of running. Since then, I have completed a marathon and my first triathlon is this April. Reading and playing sports are hobbies of mine.
About Me
I am a sophomore at the University of Arizona majoring in biomedical engineering on the pre-health track with a minor in math. I am part of the honors college and have a 3.94 GPA. I am currently working in a research lab studying brain imaging techniques. My ultimate goal is to go to medical school and become a doctor.
Experience
I have been a math tutor for many years. In middle and high school, I would tutor both my friends and also students in younger grades in a variety of different math classes. As academic chair of my fraternity, I assist many of my brothers with their math homework and hold study sessions for them right before they have any important tests. Math has always been my favorite subject, and I love being able to share my love of the subject with others.
Approach
My approach for tutoring varies with every student depending on their individual strengths and weaknesses. The most important aspect is developing a relationship with that student to make them feel more comfortable around me and make it easier to communicate. I believe one of the best ways to learn is by going over the concepts, seeing some example problems and doing them together, and then have the student do the example problem while I observe and make sure they are on the right track.

Algebra Tutoring
Throughout high school, I was a tutor for both my friends and students in younger grades for all math subjects, including algebra.I use algebra every day in my math classes, and I am very proficient in it. The students that I tutored in algebra always did well on their upcoming tests. I have gotten A's in every algebra class I have ever taken

Throughout high school, I was a tutor for both my friends and students in younger grades for all math subjects, including calculus.I use calculus every day in my math classes, and I am very proficient in it. The students that I tutored in calculus always did well on their upcoming tests. I have gotten A's in every calculus class I have ever taken and I got a 5 on the AP calculus exam.
Middle School Math Tutoring
I have previously tutored several students in middle school math and greatly improved their understanding of the concepts. Having a math minor, I am constantly using many of the basic concepts I learned in middle school math and applying them to higher levels of mathematics. middle school math is the underlying foundation for all higher levels of math, so I have mastered these skills to succeed in other math classes. Aside from that, I have been a summer camp counselor for many summers and a teachers assistant at the local hebrew school, so I have plenty of experience working with elementary and middle school students.
