Fun Facts

I speak Ukrainian and Russian fluently, and have studied Spanish for 6 years.
I scored a 36 on the reading section of the ACT and a 35 on the English section (unfortunately the two scores were from different exams).
I scored a 4 on my AP English exam and therefore do not need to take further English courses at WSU.
I am a Vice President of Standards for the Kappa Delta Sorority at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University.

About Me

I am a Junior at wayne-state-university">Wayne State University, majoring in Nutrition and Food Science with the goal of attending Medical School. I have spent the last 3 years working with children aged 6 months-13 years as a gymnastics teacher. Helping others is my passion. I am kind, polite, patient and understanding. I can lead as well as accept leadership. A great team player and get along well with everyone I meet.

I volunteered for the Detroit Fellow detroit">Tutoring Project as a reading detroit">tutor for elementary school age children in Detroit.
In high school, I tutored my fellow students as a member of the National Honor Society.

I am patient and nurturing. I believe that raising a student's self-esteem and confidence in a subject area will improve their performance in that subject. I reward effort and improvement with encouragement and positive reinforcement. Nevertheless, I do expect work to be put in by the student. I will strive to help each student I work with reach his/her fullest potential.
