Fun Facts
Many people have told me that my spirit animal is an otter. I don’t fully understand this, but I can’t complain because there are much worse animals to be compared to. My day usually consists of going to class or my clinical rotation, doing some homework, exercising, and singing/playing guitar to annoy my housemates. I am an only child, but still to this day, I am hoping for a little brother or sister.
About Me
I am a senior Nursing major with a Chemistry minor at the portland">University of Portland. I’ve been on the Dean’s list for 3 ½ years and will be graduating with honors. When I graduate I hope to be working in pediatrics, and eventually earn my Masters in Biomedical Ethics. Throughout my time in college, I have taken credit loads up to 21 credits, done internships, research, studied abroad, participated in many clubs, volunteered, and worked for an adult special needs organization.
Experience
I am most experienced in mentoring students and guiding students to develop better study habits. I have been a mentor through UP and private contract for 2 years now. In the past year, I started participating in a program that pairs a senior nurse with a freshman nurse to assist the freshman nurse with transitions and answer any questions they have about upper division nursing. I am also experienced in working with diverse populations at many developmental levels.
Approach
My approach to tutoring is similar to my approach in nursing; it is one of gradually instilling independence. My goal of tutoring is not for students to become dependent on tutoring. Rather, I would like to help students build skills they can utilize in their future academic careers. I recognize that I will not always be you or your child’s tutor, so I would like to build a strong foundation for the future.

Anatomy Physiology I Tutoring
In both anatomy and physiology, I have received A's and was offered a position as a teacher's assistant for physiology. In addition, through my time as a nursing student, I have taken pathophysiology (A-), pharmacology (A-), medical surgical nursing I (B+) and II (B+), and pediatric/obstetrics (A-). Taking these classes has allowed me to understand which concepts of anatomy and physiology are crucial for the classes you may take later in your career as a student. Anatomy and physiology is essential to understanding pathophysiology, and pathophysiology is essential to understanding pharmacology. Medical surgical nursing and pediatrics/ob is the cumulative application of A&P, pathophysiology and pharmacology.

I will be graduating with over 160 credits with a cumulative GPA of 3.73. In high school, I balanced playing 4 sports and received a 4.0 cumulative GPA.
