I love music. I have been singing and playing piano for most of my life. I also love the outdoors and sports. I played field hockey and was a member of the swim team in high school. I like to run and ride my bike.

About Me

I am a recent graduate from Penn State University. I majored in Elementary Education. I just moved to the Columbus area this summer. I am originally from Northeastern Pennsylvania. I work part-time for the Columbus City School District as a literacy intervention teacher.

I tutored during college for a program called Friendship columbus">Tutoring. I tutored elementary students in mathematics and language arts. I worked particularly with a fourth a first grade student. I also had experience columbus">tutoring a student with autism. I was a student teacher for a 1st grade classroom last year. I conducted most of the lessons throughout the day. These lessons focused on social studies, science, math, reading, and writing lessons.

All students learn differently and it is important to remember this while columbus">tutoring students. I've never had one student that has learned or done his/her work the same way. As a columbus">tutor, you must allow the student to work at his/her own pace. I like showing students new ways to do problems. Sometimes it helps them learn better. Encouraging students while they work helps motivate them to try harder. This encouragement is something I use with all students.
