Fun Facts

I love music! One of my favorite hobbies is playing guitar or ukelele and writing my own music. If I'm not jamming out, you could find me playing ultimate frisbee, goofing around with a hacky-sack or holding Taco, my friendly guinea pig!

About Me

I am an eager to learn and fun to be around Junior at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently studying to earn my Bachelors in Fine Arts with a concentration in Film and Screenwriting. After earning my degree my ultimate goal is to be accepted into the graduate, screenwriting program at the University of Texas in Austin.

During my four years in high school, I worked hard to stay ahead and be the student who understood what was going on in class. As a result, in many of my classes the teacher would ask me to help any classmates who were struggling to keep up. I found tutoring them to be very rewarding. There wasn't a better moment than when their light bulb came on and all the pieces fell into place. Suddenly, they were more excited about working and they felt more encourage to take on harder problems by themselves. Now that I am working with Frog Tutoring I cant wait to see the look in a student's eyes when they understand everything that had once confused them.

In elementary school, I struggled daily with reading and comprehension due to my mild case of dyslexia . I would dread the moment when a teacher would announce out-loud or group reading activities. I was embarrassed and ashamed that I couldn't keep up with everyone else. Looking for a solution and hoping it might develop my learning skills, my parents enrolled me in a weekly Martial Arts class. From there I was taught to examine problems in a completely different mind set. I learned how to really focus in on the problem at hand, look at it as having a solution no matter how hard it might seem, and trust that I could succeed in solving it. This is my approach when I tutor students. I encourage them to understand that no problem is impossible and that they can trust that they're more than capable of finding that solution on their own. These ideas have carried me into success in all areas of my life and I'm more than excited to share it with every student I tutor.
