Fun Facts
One think people quickly learn about me is that I love sailing. I grew up on boats and in the water and began teaching sailing when I was 16. I take every chance I get to spend a day on the water with friends and family.
About Me
I am a senior Environmental Science student with a minor in Spanish and chemistry. I will graduate this semester and plan on traveling as much as possible this summer. I was recently awarded the Fulbright Grant and will spend next year in Ecuador teaching English to university students. The following year, I will attend Western Michigan Medical school.
Experience
I began teaching sailing and swimming lessons when I was 16 years old. I found that I enjoyed teaching so much that I began volunteering in an English Learners high school classroom two years ago. While volunteering, I tutored students in a variety of classes, as well as in study skills and general homework help. Working as a tutor will allow me to continue doing what I love and will help me prepare to teach English in Ecuador this fall.
Approach
When I was in Elementary and Middle school, I struggled with paying attention in school. I didn't feel that my teachers were connecting with me and I lost interest in my education. As I entered high school, I found that I did much better in classes that I connected with the teachers and the material. As a tutor, my goal is to find common ground with my students and provide them with material that they can use in their everyday lives and future professions.

MCAT Tutoring
I took the MCAT 2015 in June 2016 and received a score of 513, or the 90th percentile. I studied using my own methods and felt very prepared during the exam. I have taken courses in each of the four MCAT sections.
