About Me

My favorite author is Leslie Marmon Silko because I find Indian culture to be extremely interesting. I would never get bored in an art gallery. I like to explore nature and experience God's creation. I am a laid back person and I can enjoy being around just about anyone. Even though I am a laid back person, I have always held high moral standards for myself. I think kids are funny.

During my senior year in high school I tutored eighth grade pre-algebra students twice a week. The material was very simple and a lot of times my job was to motivate as much as it was to teach. In this class, I would often spend one on one time with a student who was having a difficult time in the classroom as well as at home. I also tutored two elementary aged boys, a fourth grader and a sixth grader, after school on Fridays. The second grader has aspergers syndrome and the sixth grader was suffering from his parents divorce. On Fridays I would go to their school and we would make sure that they were caught up in all of their classes. Their motivation was that they got to paint with me when they were finished. I taught them how to mix paints to make different colors and talked to them about how school was going. When their school was about to let out for the summer I visited them during their lunch period and brought them Chic-Fil-A (I was already out of school). My nashville">tutoring experience has been centered around helping younger students overcome their personal struggles and discover that learning is constructive and fun.

With that being said, I would establish a relationship with whomever I nashville">tutor so that the student would feel accountable to me for his work/ improvement. If allowed, I would provide incentive in the form of small candy or ending the session early to simply talk with the student for a couple of minutes. I would impose a service-minded mentality upon myself so that I would be able
