Fun Facts
Bake, bake and did I mention...I love to bake! I do like to make cakes and pies, muffins and such. I, however, tend to be a bit ambitious and bake outside of my realm of expertise. That's how I learn! My dream is to become a pastry chef. I also occasionally bake for my church on Sundays...no complaints yet!
About Me
I am currently a stay at home mom to a wonderful toddler. I am a former Spanish teacher and world language instructor for junior high students. I am also a former teacher's aide for ELL students from different Latin American countries from first to eighth grade.
In high school, I obtained my Arts Seal from Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in instrumental music and music appreciation. I occasionally teach music to this day. I have my BA in the Spanish language and my minor in Education.
Experience
Working in all grade levels, I have been able to not only teach, but have been a before and after school tutor for my former ELL students. I have also been able to teach German and French in my world languages classes. Not only have I tutored, I have translated live lessons, lesson plans, taught music and gave music lessons in woodwind instruments as well as basic piano.
Approach
My .most difficult grade school years was by for junior high. I can't tell you how much I have struggled. I didn't have cheerleaders to encourage me to help me along the way. That was the number one priority when I started teaching, to be a cheerleader for my students, even children who aren't my own students. If they never hear an encouraging word from anyone else the whole day, they will hear it from me!
