Fun Facts
As a teenager, I spent a lot of time playing table tennis and checkers, I represented my high school in table tennis and won a lot of accolades. I have traveled to Switzerland and was amazed by the mountains. At the moment, I enjoy swimming and listening to music
About Me
My enthusiasm for teaching stems from my desire to make an impact on students as they learn. The Aha! moment is what interests me most as a student learns and understands a new concept.
As a cum laud graduate of The George Washington University School of Public Health and one of the tutors at the Enrichment Centers Inc., I have had the opportunity of working with many students and help them reach their uttermost potential and see their grades improve remarkably.
My key subject areas in tutoring are math, reading, biology, physics and statistics. I also teach anatomy and physiology.
For the convenience of the students, I am very willing to travel to any location that is more convenient for my student. I am flexible with time and willing to offer make up classes when the need arises. I also encourage students to contact me to learn more about scheduled lessons.
Experience
As the lead instructor at the Enrichment Centers, I have tutored students from first grade to twelfth grade in reading math and science. The tutoring took place in one-on-one and small group settings for easy facilitation of concepts learned. I have taught public health education on healthy life change behaviors to adolescents at the District of Columbia children National Hospital.
Approach
I am a very strong proponent of active and interactive learning.As I teach, I also quiz my students, thereby keeping them engaged and challenged through out the process. This has also proven to help students retain what they have learn.
I also give my students homework and provide timely feedback to them on their strengths and weaknesses. I also ask for feedback from my students on my standard of tutoring and how to make the tutoring process and experience much better.
