Fun Facts

I'm from just outside of Los Angeles, CA. I have enjoyed dancing since middle school. I just returned from a year immersing myself in Spanish while studying abroad in the Dominican Republic (where I learned to dance bachata!) and Spain. I also enjoy knitting things for friends and family in my free time.

About Me

Hi there! My name is Ellie, and I am a current senior at Lewis & Clark College. I am psychology major, and am in the Teacher Pathways program, as I am pursuing a career as an elementary school teacher. I have also been on the dean's list two consecutive years.

Experience

I have quite a bit of teaching and tutoring experience. I have worked as a private tutor for four years, in elementary school classrooms quite a bit, and I recently interned at a center for mentally disabled students in Spain. I have also worked as a summer camp counselor for three summers, and then a programming expert for one. In high school, I was an on site director at the Brain Connection, a local volunteer tutoring program.

Approach

I think school and learning are so important for development and later success! I like to listen to and work with students to help them understand difficult concepts in a way that they can best process, and connect with them where possible. I always enjoy meeting new students and learning about them, and their own unique learning and growing styles.
