Fun Facts

I published two graphic novels. I was also a project manager who took charge of Chinese illustrator promotion at conventions. My job was to set up selling strategy, make sure the project has a smooth end-to-end timeline. The conventions were always successful. I am standing while working instead of sitting down, and I workout twice a week to keep healthy. I practice opera and death metal singing everyday, it is one of my hobbies. I am bilingual in Chinese and English, and I speak basic Japanese.

About Me

I am an international award-winning illustrator with 10 years of solid traditional and digital training. I got my high school degree from China Academy of Arts, and illustration BFA degree from California College of Arts. Being a tutor has been my side job for 3 years. I love being the guidance for my student’s future career as well as for college. Together with portfolio tutoring, I also cultivate my student to have a right mentality to be creative individual.

Approach

The first things I ask to my students are their goals. Depends on that, I am able to help build up their art skill systematically. For people who want to paint realistically, I train them to be more accurate about shapes and colors. For people who like to do stylish painting with lots of colors, I focus on teaching color theory and encourage them on experimenting. My students like me because I don't tell them "draw darker here" or "add red there", but I guide them to learn the reasons behind.
