I am an avid runner! When life becomes chaotic, there is nothing I enjoy more than plugging in my headphones and taking off on a run. I am also from New Jersey and went to school in Virginia.

About Me

This May I graduated cum laude with a B.S. in Biology from James Madison University in Virginia. I am moving to Boston to work full time as a medical scribe at Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary while I apply to medical school for 2018 matriculation. My goal is to attend medical school and become a physician. Although I am not sure what I want to specialize in, I have most enjoyed my time shadowing in the emergency room.

Experience

Over the past year, I have been employed as a Student Athlete Tutor at JMU. I tutored intro-level bio courses, biochemistry, physics, chemistry I and II, and genetics. I also tutored privately on the side. At first tutoring was only for the money, but I found that the monetary benefits were nothing compared to the joy I received from helping other students achieve their academic goals.

Approach

Throughout my own career as a student and through tutoring others, I believe that confidence is the most important tool when learning any subject. If a student believes that they have the capacity to learn the material, they will. For this reason, I start every concept with the most basic, rudimentary material to build their confidence. At the student's pace, I move on to the more difficult concepts, assuring that they are mastering every step along the way.
