Fun Facts

I have been playing football my entire life, since I was about 6 years old. I played all four years in high school and was lucky enough to play all four years in college. I even got to coach high school football while being a mathematics teacher! I am extremely passionate about football. But beyond this, I enjoy other things in life such as reading books, learning new things, and you will find I am extremely passionate about learning and teaching math. I bring enthusiasm to everything I do!

About Me

I am a graduate of Gettysburg College '16 with a BA in Mathematics. From there, I was a part of the Teach for America Corps for the 2016-2017 school year in Bridgeport, CT. Now, at the age of 23 I've decided to return to school in the Mathematics and Statistics program at Georgetown University. I hope to continue a rewarding educational career in mathematics and ultimately hope to work for the government or an affiliated organization utilizing my knowledge in analytics.

Experience

As an upperclassmen member of the 'Freshman Transition' program in High School, I was able to work closely with 9th graders and help them build comfortability with high school both socially and academically. Here, I tutored multiple students in subjects ranging from Spanish II to Geometry. At Gettysburg College, I worked as a Calculus tutor and Peer Learning Associate, teaching a Calculus II course once a week. Now, I work as a high school Algebra and Geometry teacher!

Approach

I am a firm believer in a "growth" mindset, in which no student holds innate abilities that determine their abilities and successes in the classroom, but rather each and every student has an opportunity to learn and become better. Despite struggling in classrooms and lectures, each student can achieve their success by determining first what motivates them and how they learn best. For me, I bring a lot of passion and interest into learning, so students can create a meaningful connection.
