Fun Facts
I am from, Eastern European country, Macedonia. If you try to look for it on a map, you would need to zoom in a few times in order to find it on the Balkan Peninsula. Growing up in a third world country was a unique experience that had taught me how to be independent and determined.
10 years ago, I moved to USA by my self and have been living in Miami since then.
I like watching movies because they inspire me and elicit my motivation to keep chasing my dreams.
About Me
I finished high school in my country. Because of the lack of technology, we were doing calculations in our heads or on paper. That action still stayed with me. I am avoiding calculators, every time I can, in order to exercise my brain. I graduated in May 2017 with Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Florida International University (FIU) with GPA 3.93/4.00. My ultimate goal is to earn my Masters in Operations Research and become an Operational Research Analyst.
Experience
I was Learning Assistant for 3 years for the Department of Mathematics at FIU. I served as Calculus and Discrete Mathematics peer leader in and out of class, helping students to better understand the material. I have tutored students in different majors and with different backgrounds. Assisting different professors in their classrooms has given me exposer to different teaching styles that accommodate students’ needs. I have also tutored high school students for their math classes and prep exams.
Approach
Through out my experience, I noticed that people dislike math just because they feel intimidated by it. They think either you are good at it or not.
I strongly disagree. I believe that anyone can do math with the right way of teaching and practice.
My goal is to alleviate the fear of math in students and to teach them how to approach problems without fear and intimidation. Math skills are not innate; they are acquired. Let me help you develop yours. I know you can do it because I did it.
