Fun Facts
A fun fact about me is that by the end of first grade I read the first three books of the "Little House on the Prarie" collection. I was completely obsessed with finding out what was going to happen to their family next, and often I swore to my parents that it was completely real because I felt that the narrator was my friend.
About Me
In the fall, I will be returning to Boston Public Schools for a second-year. Last year, I was a high school ELA teacher in a full-inclusive classroom; and next year, I will be an ELA teacher for an alternative high school within the Boston Area. I am currently pursuing my Masters of Arts in English, with a focus on Creative Writing (poetry), with hopes of graduating at the end of December. I hope to spend the next year as a professional teacher in urban education, freelancing as a tutor.
Experience
For the past year, I have been a public school high school educator. Before this, I was a charter school kindergarten teacher. Throughout my undergraduate career, I have always worked within close proximity to ELA classrooms in order to lend a helping hand to students in need of academic support.
Approach
It is hard to describe my approach of education because it is severely student centered. I like to create individual learning plans that benefit the students, help them develop into lifelong learners, and allow them to progress in regards to skills and content mastery.
