About Me

My name is Kayla Jarzombek and I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX with my parents and my little sister. I go to TCU where I'm majoring in math-middle-school/texas/fort-worth">Middle School Math Education. I've always loved math class and have always excelled in it. Ever since second grade I've had a passion for becoming a teacher and I can't wait to get there!

I've had a lot of informal experience with tutoring in the past. In high school I was always the go-to friend for math questions and help and that has continued on into college. I've always enjoyed helping people reach their potential in this subject. Also, my education classes that I'm taking now or have taken in the past have given me great tips on how to be a better tutor now and teacher later.

My approach to tutoring is whatever comes natural to me in the moment as well as preparedness and thoroughness. Before beginning a session I make sure I'm fully confident and familiarized with the material and then I dive in. With math I find it's easies to go over the definitions and concepts then work through some problems as a team. Afterwards, I find it's best to get the student to do some work without as much help from me and then have them move on to a point where they're doing all of the work themselves. If after this gradual approach the student still doesn't feel completely confident in their abilities addition help would be provided.
