Fun Facts

The first thing anyone should know about me is my passion for riding horses. I am a 2x AQHYA World Champion and I even competed on a full-ride scholarship for TCU Equestrian team. I started riding at age 2 and learned from my mother who was an accomplished horseman. I also love to draw and write! My dream is to one day be an author and live in the Bay Area.

About Me

I am a junior Writing major at Texas Christian University. Last year I received the William Koehler Academic Achievement Award which is awarded to a Student Athlete who shows unparalleled determination to achieve academic success while overcoming major obstacles. Last year my mother passed away of lung cancer and I remained in school, on the team, and earned a GPA of 3.8 This year I am not competing with the Equestrian team because I am focusing on my studies as well as competing on a professional level.

Throughout high school I worked as an English tutor. I worked with my AP English teachers to help grade papers. I also worked extensively in a creative writing workshop group helping my fellow peers expand and refine their craft. Since being at TCU I have not had the opportunity to do any tutoring because of time constraints but since exiting Athletics I have much more free time to work on my writing as well as helping others.

My approach to tutoring is that every person is trying to do the best with what they have. Most of the time students struggle with essays or their English classes because they have not been encouraged to expand their critical reading or writing skills. I want to help people learn these important methods, hone their rhetorical skills, and ultimately feel confident that they are submitting quality work.
