About Me

I'm a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Swarthmore College, where I studied psychology and English. There, I edited the school paper and This year, I am interning part-time at WAMU. My dream is to use my background in writing to be a radio journalist.

Experience

Throughout my time at Swarthmore, I worked in the Writing Center as a Writing Associate, which meant I was a tutor and mentor for students of all writing levels. I also helped to facilitate a writing and storytelling workshop at a house in Philadelphia for young adults transitioning out of the foster care system. I have also worked with children on the autism spectrum when I taught guitar at an arts summer camp.

Approach

For me, the hardest part about writing is learning how to balance structure with creativity. As a tutor, I always work with students to see how their ideas can come across even more strongly with sharp, concise sentences. Once clear writing becomes more intuitive, I love providing students with fun writing exercises where they can flex their imaginative muscles.
