Fun Facts
I helped to dye a river green to study water flow in the Delaware River.
I've lifted over twice my body weight.
I like to play video games in my spare time.
About Me
I graduated with a Bachelor's in Physics at Drexel University in 2015. I continued my education at the University of Alberta for a year before moving to the Atlanta area. My goal is to become a data scientist.
Experience
For three years during undergrad, I volunteered as a mathematics tutor in Camden, NJ for underprivileged middle and high school students. When I was in graduate school, I tutored undergraduate students and also worked as a teaching assistant.
Approach
When I was young, I was too shy to ask classmates for help because I wanted to appear smart. However, working together helps everyone learn.
Since grade school math builds on previous work, math is an especially difficult subject to keep up with. Falling behind in math has further implications in the higher science classes.
Different people have varying methods of learning. Let's find what works for you!
Calculus I Tutoring
Calculus forms the backbone for physics. Frequently, we're interested in how something changes with respect to time (or another variable). The derivative of a function yields an equation for the rate of chance for that original function.
Calculus 2 Tutoring
Calculus forms the backbone for physics. Integration can be used in kinematics to find out one's displacement given velocity. In quantum mechanics, you may be interested in integrating over time and space to calculate probabilities.
Elementary Statistics Tutoring
Statistics are vital to understanding data. How else will you determine whether or not your result is statistically significant? Not only did I ace my scientific data analysis classes, but I used statistics for work and research.
Physics I Tutoring
I was a physics major. Kinematics were covered in depth in both AP Physics and my first undergraduate physics class.
In graduate school, I was a teaching assistant for first-year labs, and Physics I concepts were covered.
Physics II Tutoring
I was a physics major. E&M were covered in depth in both AP Physics and my second undergraduate physics class.
In graduate school, I was a teaching assistant for first-year labs, and Physics II concepts were covered.
Pre Calculus Tutoring
Despite the name "Pre Calculus," the topics covered can serve as an introduction to other fields. A firm foundation in Pre Calculus concepts will ensure success in future math courses. I've tutored several Trig/Pre-Calc students.
Trigonometry Tutoring
Trigonometry gets a bad rep in pop culture. It's been my experience that building one's intuition for trigonometry yields results. There are a couple YouTube videos that have been tremendously helpful in the past.
