Fun Facts

One of my passion I have grown to like is gardening, over the summer I grow strawberries and tomatoes. I also enjoy going to Zumba. I am currently learning how to crochet. I enjoy serving in the community whether serving the youth or delivering meals. Serving is a great opportunity to give back into my community and a chance to meet some amazing people.

About Me

I am former certified educator in public schools. I taught 6th-8th grade Science to English Language Learners. I have several opportunities to teach English overseas. I enjoy traveling and creating unique dishes in the kitchen.

Experience

I have had the opportunity to tutor for over 4 years not including my teaching experience in the school system. My students have seen great gains in their academic and have boosted their self confidence. I have several years of experience working with students one-on-one. When I give one-on-one tutoring, this encourages the students to ask questions they may not ask in class. I am also a Georgia Certified teacher that teaches in the public school systems.

Approach

One of my strategies in the tutoring session is to build self confidence in the student that he/she is able to achieve success. I do this by creating with the lesson opportunities to discuss the importance of participating in class, test taking strategies, and it ok to make mistakes. I also believe that it is important to teach students critical thinking skills. This allows the student to be the problem the solver in class and life.
